EDIT 1: Now NOT in color. Needs a wee bit o' straightening-up, and maybe more details. Found something I can use as a "nozzle." Good thing too, as that bit about "not frakking up/breaking items" kinda fell apart when I was trying to cut out a hole on the end of the vial. Also not sure if I want to paint the vial gray or leave it black...
"I love it when a plan comes together..." And when I don't frakk up/break items as I try to cobble together a prop, especially when I don;t have any spares handy.
WIP, natch, I need to paint this thing. So technically for me it's the $5 Sandman gas gun: +$3 for paint, but -$1 I accounted for to get the 60-dram prescription vial. The cap gun was $2 at a store called Fred's.
So I cut out a notch in th vial that slides on to the gun, in a handy little indented area that helps hold it on. Even better, the size for the cut I needed to make was exactly marked by the lid-lock notches on the vial.
On the barrel of the gun is a piece of round foam I had lying around, duct-taped around the barrel, to help hold the vial up. When I get ready to put it together for good, some judicious use of Goop adhesive should do the trick. Maybe a little more detail like a front sight on the vial, maybe even a lanyard on the butt, and - viola!

Anything i was gonna say negatively, you addressed in your own notes. So I'm just gonna say, for what it is, it's pretty much perfect.
